Soft Raisin Cookies

Ingredients
2 cups water
1 cup raisins
3/4 cup Crisco
1 cup brown sugar
1 egg
3 cups flour
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp vanilla
Directions
Bring water and raisins to a boil, turn heat to summer and cook untill 1/2 cup of liquid is left. This will be used in the cookies. Cool. Mix Crisco, brown sugar and the egg. Mix or beat well. Measure flour and the rest of dry ingredients together. Add to first mixture, alternating with the liquid from the raisins. Mix well. Add the cooked raisins and vanilla last. Bake at 375 degrees for 15 minutes or until golden brown. Do not over bake. Use a greased cookie sheet.
