Auntie's Cranberry Sherbet

Ingredients

2 pkgs fresh cranberries
2-1/2 cups granulated sugar
1 envelope Knox unflavored gelatin
1/2 cup frozen concentrated orange juice
OR (1 small box orange JELLO with only 2 cups sugar)
2 cups cold water

Directions

Cook cranberries in water to cover, simmer until berries pop. Put thru sieve OR Foley Food Mill. While still hot, add 2-1/2 cups granualted sugar. Stir til dissolved & add gelatin and orange juice or orange jello. Add 2 cups cold water & cool. Freeze, stirring ocasionaly. Sherbet will remain a dark red. OR Freeze til almost frozen and beat with electric beater. Sherbet will be pink. Return to freezer & remove a few minutes before serving.

Notes

May be served with your turkey dinner or as a dessert.
