Penuche Frosting

Ingredients
3 tbsp. butter
1/2 cup brown sugar packed
1/4 cup milk
1-1/2 cups to 2 cups powdered sugar
Directions
In a medium saucepan, combine 3 tbsp. butter and 1/2 cup brown sugar. Bring to a boil. Cook over medium heat 1 minute or until slightly thickened., stirring constantly. Cool 10 minutes. Add milk; beat until smooth. Beat enough powdered sugar for desired spreading consistency. Frost cookies. Top each cookie with a halved maraschino cherry.
