Holiday Kolachy (Nut Horns)

Ingredients

4 cups flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 cup oleo or butter
3 Tbs. of sugar
4 egg yolks
1/2 pint sour cream
1 small cake yeast
1 tsp. vanilla

Filling:
1 1/2 cups sugar
4 slightly beaten egg whites
1 lb. nuts ground
1 tsp. vanilla
Fold nuts, sugar, and vanilla in beaten egg whites.

Directions

Blend flour and butter as for pie crust. Mix together
sour cream, vanilla, yeast, sugar, salt, and egg yolks.
Add to flour, mix and form large ball. Divide dough into
small walnut-sized balls and place on cookie sheet;
refrigerate overnight. Next day, roll the balls on a
mixture of granulated sugar and powdered sugar. Fill with
your favorite filling. Roll like little crescent rolls.
Can be filled with apricot, lekvar, cottage cheese,or
nuts. Bake at 350 degree for 20 to 25 minute.
